Pink indeed it was and on purpose in memory of Mom, who went to heaven on this day in 2007. This was my 3rd race inside 7 days and I was rather groggy in the morning, but my legs perked up and I managed a 13.09 on fresh, loose , not fast snow. On the track, that time would be weak sauce, but on snow, it's pretty darn good. I was surprised. Last year I was quite a bit slower on the ooshy snow. The snowpack was in fairly decent condition, but there was fresh stuff on top which made for conditions like running in sand. It was good enough to win the women's race by nearly 3 min and I only let 5 guys get away this time! Most important, was to win this one for Mom.
